Thousands expected at university's sixth May Festival
The festival in the Granite City will celebrate Scotland's year of young people.
Tens of thousands of visitors are expected at the University of Aberdeen's annual May Festival.
With a theme of celebrating youth, the festival will feature more than 120 events in and around the University's King's College campus.
Visitors can enjoy a range of activities including shows, concerts and talks, with most events free.
The festival is also marking Scotland's year of history with new experiences including a citizen's archaeological dig.
Sir Ian Diamond, university principal, said: "The May Festival is now in its sixth year, and with a fun packed programme bursting with exciting events, we hope to build on last year's exceptional audience numbers of 14,000, by welcoming even more visitors to our fantastic King's College campus in Old Aberdeen.
"This year, we're celebrating Scotland's year of young people with a range of events featuring circus performers and mental health specialists.
"Our festival team have ensured there is something for all ages and interests - spanning science, music, literature, sport, Gaelic, film and visual culture.
"And once again, our highly popular Discover theme will give you the opportunity to learn about and discuss some of the University's most innovative and world-class research."
