Dundee visitor attraction given excellent tourism rating
Barnhill Rock Garden in Broughty Ferry has been awarded four stars by VisitScotland.
A popular Dundee attraction has been rated as excellent by tourism body VisitScotland.
Barnhill Rock Garden in Broughty Ferry has been welcoming visitors since the 1950s and won the city's first Green Flag award in 2007.
It has now been awarded four stars in VisitScotland's revised Quality Assurance Scheme.
The ratings are a benchmark for quality across Scotland's tourism industry, highlighting attractions that offer high levels of customer service and quality.
They also offer bespoke advice to individual attractions on how to improve further.
Dundee Council's neighbourhood services convener Kevin Cordell said the award was testament to the garden's staff and volunteers.
He added: "This is a fantastic achievement, a credit to those involved and a result of the excellent work by council staff and partnership working with community and Friends of the Barnhill Rock Garden.
"Barnhill Rock Garden is a great place to visit and explore, from the minibeast hotel to the Geddes Glasshouse this quality mark recognises the beauty of the garden and the positive experience people have when they visit the garden.
"We will look at the feedback from the award and ensure we take the advice on board."
