Young artists sought to create design for bins in city
One winner from each area in Dundee will have their design professionally printed.
Budding young artists at primary schools throughout Dundee are being encouraged to get creative to design an image to go on bins.
A competition calls on pupils to create a waste and recycling-themed design that asks the public to correctly bin waste.
One winner from each electoral ward in Dundee will have their design professionally printed and showcased on bins through the city.
Each of the winners will also be presented a trophy by waste management firm Egbert Taylor.
The company's area manager Kevin Docherty said: "By launching an art and design competition we're aiming to provide Dundee City Council with an opportunity to not only make their bin fleet look unique, but also help engage children with recycling by making waste fun."
Kevin Cordell, council neighbourhood services convener, added: "Engaging those who represent the future of Dundee when it comes to waste and the environment is essential if we are to increase recycling levels and achieve our sustainability targets.
"This is a fun approach to getting schoolchildren involved and a way in which we can inspire creativity amongst the city's primary schools. I am now looking forward to seeing the designs and wish all participants the very best."
