Aberdeen Lifeboat Station to hold Mayday event for families
The inshore lifeboat crew will demonstrate rescues on the loch on Sunday.
Aberdeen Lifeboat Station is staging a large scale Mayday on Deeside event for families this Sunday.
The inshore lifeboat crew will demonstrate rescues on the loch, while the coastguard rescue helicopter based in Inverness will fly in, land and host tours of the aircraft.
Police Scotland's dogs, Scottish Fire and Rescue engines, Scottish Ambulance and Aberdeen Mountain Rescue will also be showing their lifesaving equipment and techniques.
Chair of Aberdeen and District Lifeboat Branch of the RNLI, Dr Margaret Farquhar CBE, said: "Mayday on Deeside is an event for all the family.
"People can meet members of Scotland's rescue services, find out more about how to enjoy Scotland's outdoors in safety, and maybe even learn a skill that could help them save someone's life."
The event will be on at Deeside Activity Park between 11am and 4pm on Sunday.
