Community projects across Aberdeen have been given almost £650,000 funding to provide local services.

Among the successful projects are Aberdeen Lads Club, Fersands Family Centre and Printfield Community Project.

The groups provide adult learning, community capacity building, early years and out of school care, youth work, parent support and community food outlets.

Councillor Jenny Laing said: "The funding approved for these deserving projects underlines our financial commitment as a council to initiatives which make a difference to the lives of people of all ages.

"These projects have demonstrated the value they bring to those they serve and it is important we continue to develop this partnership approach.

"Vibrant communities are at the heart of our aims for the city as a whole and we recognise that delivering the right support in the right areas is crucial."
