Construction under way for £6m Aberdeen community hub
The new centre will include a library, crèche, IT area and a business start-up unit.
The foundations for a new £6m community centre in Aberdeen were laid at an event to mark the start of construction on Monday.
The new Tillydrone community hub will include a library, crèche, IT area, café, retail space and a business start-up unit.
Replacing the shopping centre on Hayton Road, the state-of-the-art facility will house vital services for people living in the local community.
Councillor Ross Grant joined pupils from Riverbank Primary School and community representatives at a special ceremony as the last of the building foundations were laid on Monday.
Mr Grant said: "This new community facility has been designed in partnership with the community and will make such a difference to local community groups and local people in Tillydrone.
"The hub will include the best opportunities to access vital local services from library and IT provision, social inclusion and housing support to emergencies with the inclusion of well-being facilities as well as laundry, food bank and shower facilities."
