Regeneration initiative to bring 26 new homes to city
The latest project is part of the developer's wider plan to build 97 new properties.
Work has started on a major regeneration initiative to build 26 new homes in Dundee.
This latest project from local developer D J Laing Homes is part of a master plan of 97 new houses, and the first properties will be ready to move into later this year.
The site at Aberlady Crescent was previously home to the Skarne blocks and Greenfield primary school.
The Whitfield area has also recently been upgraded to include a recently opened hub and medical centre.
The start of the new development at Castle View was marked with a sod cutting ceremony on Thursday afternoon.
Managing director of D J Laing Homes, Karen Nicoll, said: "We are delighted to return to the Ballumbie area ten years on since our previous development.
"Our new development will be of a high quality complimenting the new housing stock in Dundee and assisting the further regeneration of Whitfield."
As part of their planning consent, the developer will make a financial contribution towards the education provision in the Whitfield area.
