Aberdeen City Council seeking clarification from the Scottish Government over works at the Haudagain Roundabout.

It follows the announcement that the opening of the long-awaited bypass is delayed.

Councillors fear that the latest delays will impact on when work will commence at the city bottleneck.

Councillor Ross Grant said: "I have written to the Minister seeking clarity as to when the long-awaited Haudagain roundabout works are to commence given the Cabinet Secretary Keith Brown has admitted what everybody already knew that the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route works will not be completed until Autumn 2018 at the earliest.

"We have heard many promises from the Scottish Government on the importance of the Haudagain roundabout since 2008 but as yet not one piece of equipment is on the ground signifying the start of the works.

"The public of Aberdeen have a right to be told by the minister what the AWPR delays will mean for the start of the Haudagain scheme."
