Landmarks across Dundee switch-off lights for Earth Hour
The global climate change initiative encourages people to save carbon emissions.
Dundee is set to celebrate Earth Hour this weekend by switching off the lights of iconic landmarks across the city.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) global initiative encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour to save carbon emissions and show a stand for action against climate change.
Camperdown Wildlife Centre will be supporting the event by hosting a climate change quiz trail around the enclosures from 10am on Saturday.
Fife Council will also be taking part by be switching off the lights at Fife House, Rothsay House, Bankhead Central and County buildings in Cupar.
More than 180 countries around the world take part in Earth Hour and every year iconic structures like the Eiffel Tower and Sydney Opera House are plunged into darkness to demonstrate how everyone can make a difference to the environment by conserving energy.
