Aberdeen landmarks switch-off lights for Earth Hour
The global climate change initiative encourages people to save carbon emissions.
Aberdeen is set to celebrate Earth Hour this weekend by switching off the lights of iconic landmarks across the city.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) global initiative encourages people to turn off their lights for one hour to save carbon emissions and show a stand for action against climate change.
Marischal College and many other city landmarks will be taking part in the event from 8.30pm on Saturday.
As part of the initiative, there has been a variety of events held throughout the city to raise awareness of climate change and encourage people to reduce their carbon footprint.
Residents have been taking part in guided walks, helping countryside and park rangers and visiting the city's new £27m recycling centre.
Climate Change Week North East will culminate with a Green Family Fun Day at Hazlehead Park on Saturday.
Councillor Philip Bell said: "Climate Change Week North East is a fantastic chance for people to find out what they can do to make a difference to reduce climate change, and they can also go to some interesting parts of the city they might not have been to."
