Motorists face delays as part of M90 Friarton Bridge closes

Motorists face weekend delays as part of the M90 Friarton Bridge closes for maintenance works.
The northbound carriageway will be closed to all traffic from 8pm on Friday until 5am on Monday.
A contraflow system will be in place, with single lane traffic running in both directions on the southbound carriageway.
The work involves replacing some bridge components on the northbound carriageway at both the north and south ends of the bridge.
The maintenance is to ensure the bridge continues to operate safely for road users.
BEAR Scotland's north east representative, Andy Thompson, said: "These essential maintenance works on Friarton Bridge will help ensure that the structure continues to operate safely for all motorists and continues to function to the highest standard.
"The traffic management is essential to keep everyone safe during these works, and this may lead to some potential delays to journey times.
"To minimise any impact to road users as much as possible we're carrying out the works over one weekend, and teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can.
"We encourage all road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website before they travel and allowing some extra time to reach their destination."
