New facilities have been unveiled at Dundee train station after a £1m investment.

There is a refurbished customer area and the concourse area between platforms one and four has had its flooring and lighting replaced.

A new ceiling, modern glazing and automatic doors have been fitted to the platform and the former waiting room has now been replaced with a new ScotRail lounge.

The lounge now offers a place to relax with a mix of sofas and chairs as well as space to work.

There are also new baby changing facilities and an accessible toilet.

Ian McConnell, the ScotRail Alliance's programmes and transformation director, said: "We're building the best railway Scotland's ever had, and improving our station facilities are a key part of this.

"This major refurbishment of Dundee station by the ScotRail Alliance is a clear sign of what's to come as the Waterfront development progresses."

Dundee City Council is also constructing a new station building at street level, which will include a new ticket office and hotel.

The project is due to be completed in late spring ahead of the opening of the V&A Design Museum in September.
