Firefighters cut a man free from a car which overturned on a street near Aberdeen University.

The vehicle was seen on its side around 11.05pm on Friday in King Street near the St Machar roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the scene and firefighters used hydraulic cutting gear to free the casualty from the wreckage.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where his injuries are not thought to be serious.

A fire service spokesman said: "One casualty was removed from the vehicle and passed into the care of the ambulance service."
