Four vehicles have been raided and damaged at an underground car park.

Police were alerted to the incident at around 6.15am on Friday, in the Hammerman Avenue area of Aberdeen.

Personal items were stolen from the cars, some have been recovered.

A gate at the car-park was also damaged and the estimated cost of this damage is more than £1000.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and any information in relation to the incident.

Officer Andrew Flockton said: "We are appealing for anyone who saw anything unusual or suspicious to get in touch with us.

"A number of the vehicles have had their windows smashed and this will be costly for the owners to repair.

"We understand that this will have been an upsetting incident for residents and additional patrols will be carried out in the area."
