A Moray school has been closed after nearly a quarter of its pupils caught a vomiting bug.

Eighty-three children at Hythehill Primary in Lossiemouth were kept home on Wednesday.

The 301-pupil school has been shut down until Monday while it is deep cleaned.

A Moray Council spokesman said: "Due to an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness the school and nursery will be closed on Thursday and Friday."

Nursery and after-school classes have also been cancelled at the primary school.
