Tablets being sold as Valium seized after drugs raid
Police have charged 20 people with drug offences after searching 14 homes in Dundee.
More than 3500 tablets being sold as Valium have been seized after a drugs raid in Dundee.
Police have charged 20 people with drug offences after they searched 14 addresses across the city.
Detectives say the operation involving 40 officers, along with specialist sniffer dogs, has given a significant blow to suppliers.
A significant amount of cash and 3600 tablets being sold as Valium were recovered from the searches.
Detective Inspector Gavin McKinlay said: "The supply and distribution of controlled drugs continues to be a priority for Tayside police division and I will seek every opportunity to disrupt and prosecute those that are involved across the Tayside area.
"With this recent enforcement activity we have delivered a significant blow to the capabilities of these persons to continue their illegal activities taking both money and controlled drugs from them and reporting them to the Procurator Fiscal."
He continued: "It's worth noting that of the 3600 tablets seized that were being sold as Valium, none were actually found to contain it.
"People selling these drugs are showing a reckless disregard for the health of others, and those purchasing and consuming them are taking a significant gamble with their health each time."
Police urge anyone with concerns about drug dealing to contact them.
