Reverse advent calendar project helps people in need
Staff from Robert Gordon University donated food, toiletries and pet food.
Lecturers and staff from Robert Gordon University's midwifery school have been donating food, toiletries and pet food as part of a "reverse advent calendar" project.
The idea behind a reverse calendar is to put an item in every day rather than taking something out.
Staff contributed more than 400 items to the King's Community Church, which runs the Aberdeen North Foodbank.
Senior lecturer Donald Todd said: "Most people love opening their advent calendars and getting a treat every day until Santa arrives but not everyone is so lucky.
"All of us in the school, from the top to the bottom, are proud of the work we do to improve the health and well-being of the north east by training the next generation of nurses and midwives.
"These donations are an additional way for us to serve the community, spreading the festive spirit and hopefully improve the lives of those that need it the most."
