Santa delivers lorryload of gifts to homeless people
Four truck drivers dressed as Santa delivered food parcels and Christmas gifts.
A convoy of Santas have delivered four lorryloads of food parcels and gifts to charity that supports homeless people in Aberdeen.
Staff and pupils from Balmedie Primary School collected the Christmas gifts for the Aberdeen Cyrenians charity.
Drivers dressed as Father Christmas will deliver the parcels in four lorries being used on the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route (AWPR).
The convoy made its way through the snow from Balmedie to the Aberdeen Cyrenians' head office on Summer Street.
Head of services at Aberdeen Cyrenians, Lynsey Allan, said: "Demand for our services is always highest at this time of year as the cold weather hits and many are forced to make the decision between heating and food in addition to the other pressures winter and Christmas can bring.
"The effort of the pupils of Balmedie School in arranging this collection makes a huge difference to our service users and helps us provide a range of practical support from food parcels to warm clothing and a few of the small Christmas treats we all love to receive.
"The sight of Santa's Convoy making its way through Aberdeen is a true demonstration of the support we receive from the local community and helps raise the spirits of our staff, volunteers and service users at this time of year."
Homelessness applications in Aberdeen amounted to 1400 last year.
