Construction will begin next month on a £15.5m office block at Dundee's waterfront.

The five-storey development near the V&A Dundee will form part of the £1bn revamp of the area.

Work will get under way in the new year and is expected to be finished by February 2019.

Lynne Short, convener of Dundee City Council's development committee, said: "Creating top-class office space like this bolsters the ongoing efforts of the council and its partners to attract blue chip employers to the city."

She said the development will act as a magnet for future employers, saying it was "another strong signal that Dundee is a city open for business."

Employees of the main contractor, Robertson Construction, and all sub-contractors will be paid the living wage.
