A section of the A90 southbound at the Persley roundabout in Aberdeen will be closed for five nights for resurfacing.

The £90,000 project will start on Monday and run for five nights from 7.30pm until 6.30am the following day.

All motorists travelling southbound on the A90 will be diverted on to the A96 Great Northern Road before rejoining the A90.

A 10mph convoy system will also be in place for all A90 northbound traffic during working hours to ensure the safety of workers.

Andy Thompson from BEAR Scotland said: "These works have been designed to improve the general condition and safety of this section of the A90 for motorists.

"We've planned these works to take place overnight to minimise disruption to motorists as much as possible, and our teams will do all they can to complete the works quickly and safely.

"We encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website and allow some extra time to reach their destination."
