Planning permission for two new restaurants and a coffee shop in Dundee have been approved.

Dundee City Council has granted change of use from an office at 5 Bank Street to a restaurant and a shop to a coffee shop at 28 Whitehall Crescent.

Permission was also given to provide a restaurant at 3 Session Street.

Convener of the council's city development committee Lynne Short said: "Not only does this type of growth create more choice and variety for visitors and locals, it also creates jobs and opportunities for people.

"Being able to choose from a reasonably price cup of tea, up to a full blown banquet at one of our top restaurants widens the net when it comes to pulling in visitors and I am really pleased to see these new eateries in the pipeline."
