Arran ferry terminal opening postponed for second time
An official opening ceremony was due to take place on Monday, November 27.
The launch of the newly upgraded Brodick Ferry Terminal in Arran has been postponed for a second time.
An official opening ceremony was due to take place on Monday but the new passenger access system has not yet received its final CE marking for operation.
The terminal is now set to be opened next month by the First Minister.
CMAL's head of Civil Engineering, Ramsay Muirhead said: "The certification issue has created an unexpected delay to operations as we were preparing for handover.
"We are working closely with Adelte, the manufacturer, to find a solution as a matter of priority so that we can get the terminal up and running and open to the public as soon as possible."
The launch has also been delayed out of respect for for a prominent landowner on Arran, Stephen Gibbs, who died last week.
A service of thanksgiving is planned for him on the same morning.
