Ryan Stewart was offered £300 to transport the drug from Glasgow to Dundee.
An unemployed Dundee man accepted £300 to transport £400,000 worth high purity cocaine to the city from Glasgow.
Ryan Stewart was detained by police officers after they spotted his vehicle on Kingsway West in Dundee on March 7, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard.
After Stewart stopped at the car park of a nearby restaurant, police found a red carrier bag underneath the driver's seat which contained a "fractured block" of 1kg cocaine.
Stewart admitted being involved in the supply of the drug and is due to be sentenced in November.
Prosecution lawyer Maryam Labaki told the court: "The weight of the cocaine was 10114.21 grams.
"On analysis the cocaine was found to have a purity of 80%."
Defence solicitor advocate Chris Fyffe said his client accepted responsibility for his actions.
He added: "He is a 41-year-old man who lives with his partner of nine years. There are no children.
"He has completely accepted full responsibility for his actions."
