A grandfather was caught with heroin and crack cocaine inside a bag stashed under his floorboards.

Police who searched Paul White's home in Aberdeen found drugs worth more than £120,000 on the streets.

They also discovered a notepad with references to "white sugar" and "brown sugar" - street names for crack cocaine and heroin - which indicated quantities had been taken away.

More cocaine was found in a bedroom.

He was then arrested at a nearby bookmarkers and found to have heroin and £880 in cash.

A search of a car at a sports centre then discovered £8040 wrapped in eight bundles inside a rucksack along with more heroin and cocaine.

White, 50, of Bridge of Don, was jailed for three years and nine months at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

He earlier admitted being concerned in the supply of both Class A drugs between September 11 and October 12 last year.

Judge Lord Boyd of Duncansby said: "It is clear your involvement was more than just storage or acting as a courier."
