Children's charity to benefit from mountain challenge book
Staff from Ninewells Hospital completed a relay over and between Scottish mountains.
The story of a mountain challenge for charity has been immortalised in a new book to raise funds for Tayside Children's Hospital.
Staff from Ninewells Hospital raised £33,000 for the ARCHIE Foundation by conquering all 130 Scottish mountains in just 16 days.
Led by Dr Paul Fettes, consultant anaesthetist, the group of 57 fearless fundraisers completed a relay over and between every single Scottish mountain over 1000m in height.
The group share their experience of their journey in the new novel The Archies.
All profits from the book will go toward raising £2m for the twin surgical suite project at the hospital.
Dr Fettes said: 'If Sir High Munro were alive today, I don't think he would come up with the Munros, I think he would come up with the Archies. This book explains why, and tells the story of our amazing journey.
"It should appeal to anyone with a love of the outdoors, or a spirit of adventure.
"I'm hoping we will raise a lot more money for ARCHIE with this book."
