Drivers have been told to expect delays ahead of work on a key Aberdeenshire route later this month.

Part of the B979 Netherley Road will be closed for five days from Monday, September 18 with key resurfacing work planned.

Drivers won't be able to access the section covering B9077 South Deeside Road to U63K.

A number of diversions will be in place during this time with Aberdeenshire Council offering a map of all the routes affected by the work on their website.

Police have warned drivers of long and heavy vehicles that not all routes will be suitable.

Residents in and around Stonehaven are most likely to be affected alongside commuters in Portlethen.
