Legislation to fully implement Frank's Law have been announced by Nicola Sturgeon.

Unveiling the Scottish Government's legislative programme for the coming year, the First Minister said free personal case would be extended to under-65s with conditions such as dementia.

The move follows a campaign by Amanda Kopel, wife of former Dundee United footballer Frank Kopel.

Mr Kopel died aged 65 in 2014, six years after being diagnosed with dementia.

Because of his age, Mr Kopel and his wife Amanda did not qualify for free care available to over-65s in Scotland.

As well as dementia, Frank's Law aims to end this situation for people who have conditions such as motor neurone disease, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis and cancer.
