A 16th century Aberdeenshire castle has been put up for sale with the added incentive of claiming a noble title.

Leslie Castle near Insch is on the market for £650,000, having recently been used as a bed and breakfast.

The five-storey property comes with six bedrooms plus a tower bedroom and study as well as the title of the Baron of Leslie.

A site of architectural significance, the original structure remains in place including the rare lantern tower.

Connecting all the floors, this square stair tower has an unusual lantern void to light the stairs.

Restored during the 1980s, the castle is currently owned by the Dorsch family from Germany.

Two acres of land surround the building, which is believed to be one of the last remaining fortified castles left in Scotland.
