Dundee carers asked to help shape new legislation
The legislation, to be introduced on April 1, will lay out new rights for unpaid carers.
Carers in Dundee are being asked what matters to them and those they support ahead of new legislation which comes into force next year.
The Carers Act will be introduced on April 1 and will lay out new rights for unpaid workers.
It will include duties for local councils and the NHS to support the changes.
Those affected can share their views by attending one of the six meetings held by Dundee Carers Centre and Dundee Health & Social Care Partnership or by completing an online survey.
Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership chair Ken Lynn said: "When the act goes live on April 1 next year, it will introduce new rights for unpaid carers and new duties for local councils and the NHS to provide support to them.
"But how we go about doing that is crucial to delivering an effective and efficient support system for carers.
"People who provide unpaid support and care for someone who is disabled, has a long-term condition, mental health challenges or is affected by alcohol or drug misuse, know best what is needed and we want to hear from them as part of our response to the new Act."
