Man charged after £40,000 of vehicles stolen in north east
His charges include theft of a Land Rover, two motorcycles and a number of housebreakings.
A man has been charged in connection with a series of incidents including the theft of vehicles worth more than £40,000.
The 31-year-old has been charged with theft of a Land Rover, two motorcycles and a number of housebreakings.
A Land Rover was taken from the Banchory area on March 23 and the two motorcycles were taken from a property in the Aboyne area on April 18.
He has also been charged in connection with two housebreakings with intent to steal at garages in the Cults area on March 27.
Charges include theft from a vehicle, a housebreaking with intent to steal from a shed and garage and an attempted housebreaking from a garage at various addresses in the Banchory area on May 8.
Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain said: "Thank you to the members of the public who assisted officers while enquiries were carried out in relation to these reports."
"Operation Magpie exists in North East Division to ensure daily, targeted proactive action is taken to tackle acquisitive crime.
"Prevention is key so I would always urge the public to ensure all doors and windows to your properties and vehicles are locked and secure at all times to not give thieves a chance.
"If you notice any suspicious activity, day or night, in the area you live please let us know as soon as possible. There won't be any issue with officers attending a false call made in good faith."
