James Keatings ruled out for month with ankle injury
Dundee United forward suffered the knock in the 3-0 win over Buckie Thistle.
Dundee United forward James Keatings has been ruled out for one month with ankle ligament damage.
The attacker has made an impressive start to life with the Terrors, scoring on his debut against Raith Rovers.
The Tannadice boss confirmed he was on the hunt for another attacker prior to Keatings' injury and his recruitment plans would continue as planned.
McKinnon told reporters: "We have had it confirmed James has done his ankle ligaments so will be out for four to six weeks.
"We are gutted for him and for the team because he will be an important player for us this season.
"But it's just one of those things. Hopefully he's a quick healer and he will be back at the lower end of the scale."
Meanwhile, United have sold out their allocation for this month's Dundee derby at Dens Park in the League Cup.
