A Dundee drug dealer whose cannabis factory was described by police as "the most professional" they had seen has been jailed for two years.

Grant Guyan's £30,000 cultivation was discovered by a gasman replacing the meter at his property in the city's Clepington Road.

At Dundee Sheriff Court, 31-year-old Guyan pled guilty on indictment to producing and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

The court heard Guyan and his brother had inherited the property that he had gone on to use for illicit growing.

Fiscal depute Kirsten Letford said: "When he spoke to police he immediately said he had nine cannabis plants.

"There was various paraphernalia including water pumps running to the bathroom.

"The reporting officer said it was the most professional setup he had ever seen."

She added: "A total of 2.75kg of dried herbal cannabis was found with a potential illicit value of £27,500.

"If the seedlings that were growing were harvested they would have had a value of between £3420 and £10,200.

"A previous crop had been preserved and was drying at the time. Text messages were found that suggested he was dealing the drugs."
