Discovery Point in Dundee has reopened after receiving £500,000 funding boost.

The award from the Coastal Communities Fund and the city council was used to transform the facilities at the popular tourist attraction, create new jobs and grow the economy.

The Discovery reopened to the public at the weekend after an extensive seven month refurbishment programme.

She is now shipshape after experts repaired and restored the masts and rigging for future generations to enjoy.

The new galleries and visitor experience will include fresh graphics, audiovisual shows, computers and interactive experiences and an extended display of the trust's polar collection.

Visitors will be able to try their hands at pulling a sledge to see if they have what it takes to be a polar explorer.
