Members of the public are to be consulted over the creation of a new heritage trail between Banff and Macduff.

Aberdeenshire Council is looking for ideas over locations of significance to include in the route, which would be used by both locals and visitors.

The local authority is on the hunt for local champions who are passionate and knowledgeable about the two towns.

Three community consultation events will be held in the area in the coming weeks to start off the project.

The first will be held in Banff on Monday, July 10, at the Deveron Sports and Community Centre from 10am until 2pm.

Another session will be held in Macduff Sports Centre on Monday, July 24, from 4pm-8pm as well as Macduff Farmers Market on Saturday, July 29, from 8am-1pm.
