A new gin distillery and visitor centre has opened in Fife with the aim of adding to the region's food and drink industry.

Darnley's Gin has made the move to Kingsbarns in the East Neuk of Fife.

The year-long renovation project of the Darnley's Gin 'cottage' with the firm promising a focus on traditional techniques and craftsmanship at heart.

Using copper stills from Italy, Fife local Scott Gowans is the local distiller and will oversee all aspects of production.

Discussing the new venture, Darnley's managing director William Wemyss said: "From a business perspective this is a momentous investment for the future of Darnley's Gin, following on from the recent refresh of our brand and the growth in demand for our high quality gin around the world.

"It is a decision that was an instinctive one for us, bringing the making of our gin home to a part of Scotland where we have such deep roots and a connection to the land and local communities."
