Sport Aberdeen gain low carbon transport funding
Group is one of five organisations to gain money from Transport Scotland.
Sport Aberdeen has been awarded funding to create active travel and low carbon transport hubs.
Public, community and third sector organisations were invited to bid for up to 40-50% of their total project costs, up to £2 million, with the remainder of project costs provided through match funding from other non-European public sources.
The Aberdeen group were one of five organisations to be awarded money through the scheme.
Transport minister Humza Yousaf said: "The new hubs will contribute towards bringing us closer to these goals by enabling walking and cycling to be the norm for everyday journeys.
"By creating hubs that will also provide the facilities to support the uptake of low emission vehicles, such as electric vehicle charging points and hydrogen refuelling stations, this will lead to improvements in air quality and contribute towards meeting our ambitious greenhouse gas targets."
