Armed robbers stole six-figure sum from Gleneagles Hotel
A branch of Mappin and Webb at the facility was targeted in the raid.
An armed gang who stole watches from Gleneagles Hotel made off with a six-figure sum, say police.
Officers were called to the incident in Auchterader, Perthshire, at 11.20am on Tuesday, June 28.
A branch of Mappin and Webb at the facility was targeted in the raid.
Mappin and Webb has two "boutique" stores at the resort, which it describes on its website as being home to "premium fine jewellery and is home to the world's most prestigious Swiss watch brands including Rolex."
Three masked men, brandishing a variety of weapons targeted one of the jewellery shops at the five-star resort.
They escaped in a blue Audi, which was later found abandoned close to the scene.
A specialist team of police officers has now been set up to trace those responsible.
