Tracy Beaker illustrator leaves Kingswells primary
Nick Sharratt is finishing up a three-year spell as patron of reading.
Children's author and illustrator Nick Sharratt is finishing up a three-year spell as patron of reading at an Aberdeen School.
Pupils at Kingswells primary have been working with him on drawing techniques and even providing a little inspiration for a few of his works.
Best-known for his illustrations for Jacqueline Wilson's Tracy Beaker series, Nick has also produced work for Jeremy Strong and his own novels including "The Cat and the King".
As reading patron, Nick has been closely involved in helping the pupils get creative in developing their storytelling.
Now the pupils have produced their own comic, featuring images from more than 500 budding young artists.
Nick hopes the school will carry on the artistic momentum without him as the school searches for their next patron of reading.
