Urban beach to form part of design for waterfront revamp
Project will see Waterfront Place given a new look after economic summit.
An urban beach will form a key part of plans to revamp Dundee's Waterfront area.
The project, which will start following the redevelopment of the V&A, will see the region of the city transformed.
Sitting on the banks of the Tay, the urban beach will be surrounded by a boardwalk with facilities installed around Slessor Gardens.
Plans for a water feature as well as raised mounds for people to sit and relax have also been showcased at an economic summit last week.
Proposals aim to make the area more friendly for pedestrians and has taken inspiration from similar programmes in Paris and Orlando.
A council committee is yet to approve the designs with a decision required before the project can start.
