New £40m Waterfront development given green light
The £40m Waterfront development and £6.9m Kingsway East project were both approved.
Planning permission for two new developments have been approved by Dundee City Council.
The £40m Waterfront development for 150-room hotel and 88 new flats, was approved unanimously at the development management committee on Monday evening.
Project leaders Robertson, want to build next to the new railway station and the V&A Museum of Design.
The second proposal for a £6.9m development on vacant land at Kingsway East was approved approved by 11 votes to nine, despite being recommended for refusal before the meeting.
Developers want to build a new Lidl shop, a Costa Coffee drive-through, a restaurant, a car showroom and several industrial units hoping to bring 170 job opportunities to the area.
Many high profile councillors did not attend the meeting including Lord Provost Ian Borthwick and Leader of the administration John Alexander.
