Primary and secondary teachers across Dundee have the chance to take part in a drop-in carers event on Thursday.

Dundee Carers Centre will host the information event, which runs from 4.30pm to 6pm, at the C Gate in the city centre.

The event will showcase the new city-wide policy on provision for young carers in primary and secondary schools from Dundee City Council's Children and Family service.

It will also display new classroom resources for S1 to S4 and enable young carers and education staff to meet and discuss how practical support can be delivered in schools.

The new classroom resources have been developed in partnership with staff and pupils from Braeview Academy and youth work staff from Dundee Carers Centre.

Team manager Sarah Clark said: "This event is a great opportunity for teaching staff to come along to the Centre and find out more about how we can work together to support young carers.

"It is also an opportunity for staff at different schools across the Council area to meet with each other, and the young carers who are involved in our work".
