Dundee Carers Centre is recognising a a national week dedicated to its cause by holding an information and support event.

The charity is holding the event on Wednesday as part of National Carers Week 2017, which gives communities the opportunity to come together to highlight the contribution made by carers.

It will bring together organisations and services from across the city to provide information and support to unpaid carers in Dundee.

Organisations including Alzheimer Scotland, Dial-op, DHLI, Cairn Folk, North East Sensory Services, Celebrate Age Network and Discovery Credit Union will attend, along with Dundee's Health & Social Care Partnership and the Community Safety Team.

Communications manager at the centre, Stacey Clark, said: "Carers Week provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations to come together to highlight the vital contribution made by carers in our communities.

"We are delighted that so many organisations are involved in this year's carer information event, promoting the valuable services they offer to support unpaid carers.

"I would encourage anyone to come along on the day and find out about what is available to help them or someone they know, who is currently caring for a loved one."
