A £50,000 project to improve road safety is under way at the westbound exit slip road from St Madoes on the A90 near Perth.

The first phase of the scheme will involve upgrading the footway and installing pedestrian and cyclist signs.

For the next three weeks, the westbound exit slip to St Madoes will be closed and traffic diverted via the nearby Kinfauns Interchange, allowing for a single lane closure on the slip road.

Westbound traffic will still be able to access the A90 as normal.

Bear Scotland's north east unit representative, Andy Thompson, said: "This phase of works forms an integral part in the overall plan to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety between St Madoes and Perth.

"We have planned the works to minimise disruption to local residents and do not anticipate significant levels of noise or disruption to local residents and the travelling public but we would ask for their patience during this time and urge people to leave extra time for travel.
