Conservatives gain Angus as SNP's Mike Weir loses out
Tory Kirstene Hair claimed control of the seat with 18,148 votes.
The Conservatives claimed control of the Angus constituency from the SNP for the first time.
The seat, which was created in 1997 due to boundary changes has always been held by the Nationalists.
Mike Weir had won the seat in four elections from 2001 until 2015 but he was unable to see off the challenge of Kirstene Hair.
The Tory representative gained 18,148 to secure a majority of 2,645.
In 2015, the SNP had secured a majority of over 11,000.
While the Tories came away with 13 seats in Scotland, in England they fared far worse, losing at least 21 seats, leaving them on course to pick up a total of 319 - down by 11 overall.
