New service to help vulnerable babies in the north east
NHS Grampian programme will operate within a 20-mile radius of Aberdeen.
A new service has started around Aberdeen to help some of the area's most vulnerable babies.
NHS Grampian's home support service is allowing them to get home early and to free up valuable space in hospital for other needy infants.
Parents say it is giving them more support and confidence as they adjust to life with a new arrival.
Aurora Morrice was born seven weeks premature and has not been out for hospital for long.
Any concerns her parents Mark Morrice and Rebekah Jones may have are eased by nurse Aileen Duncan, who travels to the family home in Stonehaven after coming up with the service.
While the service currently operates within a 20-mile radius of Aberdeen, it is hoped it will eventually cover the whole of the north east.
