Plans for a significant development on vacant land at Kingsway East will go on public display this week.

Proposals for a new Lidl store, a Costa Coffee, a family restaurant, a car showroom and a number of industrial units have been submitted to Dundee City Council.

Those behind the £6.9m investment will create 115 construction jobs in the short term with 172 positions when the site is in operation.

The site is opposite the existing Kingsway East Retail Park.

Lidl's Gordon Rafferty said: "We have been delighted with the response of the local communities to our application, who have recognised the positive contribution that the redevelopment will bring to both the communities themselves and the local economy.

"Of the 573 feedback forms received, 536 (94%) were wholly supportive of a Lidl foodstore in this location."

The local authority's development management committee will consider the project on June 19.
