An Aberdeen student has been seriously injured in a fall from a balcony while on holiday in Ibiza.

Kanza Rehman is in hospital after plunging from the second storey of the apartment block in San Antonio on the Spanish island on Tuesday morning.

The 21-year-old is studying international tourism management at Robert Gordon University.

University principal Ferdinand von Prondzynski wished Ms Rehman a "speedy recovery" and many people took to social media to echo that sentiment.

Helen Henderson said: "Sending love and healing prayers" while Layney Ritchie added: "Poor kid, hope she makes a good recovery."

Ken Reid said: "I have seen some of these balconies and they are very unsafe with not enough barriers on them."
