Members of a Dundee community group has been awarded a micro grant as part of a new project designed to bring people together.

Dundee Soup unites several community organisations over an evening, with cash raised going to chosen projects.

Attendees receive a simple soup supper before presentations to decide the winner.

Lifegate Tea Dances, which aims to reduce isolation and provide a social setting for older people, received £188 which will be spent on a new minibus.

Manager Debbie Findlay said: "This money will make a difference to members of the community who cannot walk to Whitfield Church but can instead be picked up by a minibus.

"Due to social isolation people are tending to stay in the house and not go out to meet."

Other organisations present included Dundee's Dress Herrings, Flow Kids and Uppertunity community garden.
