A man who died after being hit by a car in Angus has been named by police.

Scott Blake from Montrose died after being struck by the vehicle while walking along Coronation Avenue on Sunday.

Emergency services were called but the 22-year-old died at the scene.

In a statement, police said Mr Blake's family were "understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said he will be greatly missed."

Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident and anyone with information should contact police on 101.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
