The first stage of the development of a cultural quarter in Perth is almost complete.

Work has begun on Mill Street to lay the final road surface to complement pavements.

To allow this work to be carried out safely, a temporary road closure is required and Mill Street will be closed at Kinnoull Street for the full week.

A diversion will be in place with access maintained to the car park adjacent to Marks & Spencer from Tuesday for three days.

Once the surfacing work is completed on Friday the road will be open to traffic in a one-way system.

Six weeks of work concentrating on the footway outside Pullar House will mark phase two of the project.

The remainder of the work will be carried out as part of the redevelopment of Perth Theatre, which is due to reopen in October.
